OPC 120 - AcerolaOligomere Pro Cyanidine: OPC 120 with Acerola - 120 mg pure OPC per Capsule
120 mg pure OPC per Capsule - in Vegetable Cellulose Capsules

According to Prof. Dr. Masquelier, the fact that the South French have a higher life expectancy than the European average, is less explained by a special lifestyle but by the high consumption of anthocyanidines in red-wine grapes (French paradox). Indeed, the antioxidative characteristics of OPC, which meanwhile is one of the best-known antioxidants, exceed that of the known vitamins C and E by many times.

OPC means Oligomere Procyanidines or Proanthocyanidines. They belong to the family of flavanols. They were discovered by Prof. Dr. Jack Masquelier in 1955, who has proven that OPC can be found in seeds and skins of grapes and these flavanols, among others, have a protective effect to blood vessels. OPC has a bioavailability of nearly 100%. It is absorbed by the organism within a relatively short time and rapidly spreads in all different organs as well as in the overall body tissue, up to the skin, hair and nails. It is absolutely non-toxic and is utilized by the body as far as possible.

In 1976, Dr. Masquelier and his colleagues proved in studies with guinea pigs that OPC reinforces the effect of vitamin C. The vitamin C is stabilized very easily because the polyphenols buffer radicals already "in advance", so that we can talk about a strong synergetic effect (the synergy of several substances in additive or intensifying form).

As OPC just like vitamin C cannot be produced by the human body itself, it must be added from the outside together with food. In can be found in different concentrations in nearly all plants, especially, however, in the respective seeds and skins. As even these, however, are eliminated in technological production processes, additional taking can be useful especially when it comes to OPC.

What you should note when buying OPC!

Grape seed extracts are not nearly OPC and polyphenols least of all proanthocyanidines. OPC (Oligomere-Pro-Cyanidine) belongs to the family of (secondary) plants, the polyphenols; however, they are a smaller and special component of them. Thus, the only declaration of "grape seed extract" or of the polyphenol concentration does not say much about the actual concentration of pure OPC. If you decide for an OPC product, you should therefore see to it that the concentration of grapeseed extract, polyphenols, proanthocyanidines and pure OPC is shown, as these terms could easily be "mistaken". The certificate about ingredients is a means of safety. Please ask for it.

Each OPC 120 capsule contains 300 mg pure grape seed extract with a total concentration of polyphenol of more than 95%. The concentration of proanthocyanidines is more than 80% and that of pure OPC 40% = 120 mg/capsule.

These values correspond to an average batch. The extraction of the extract itself is done without using any organic solvents.

Moreover, each cellulose capsule contains 60 mg acerola powder with a natural vitamin C concentration of 17% (= 10 mg or 2% vitamin C per capsule), without flavoring, coloring, filling substances or preservatives. Furthermore, the capsules have an optimal bioavailability and are completely free of residues. OPC 120 is available in vegetable "vegetarian" cellulose capsules.
OPC 120 =
• 120 mg pure OPC of
• 240 mg proanthocyanidine of
• 300 mg grape seed extract.
