The British biologist Prof. Dr. Peter Mitschell has found out that a certain enzyme is indispensable for our body: coenzyme Q10. For his discovery and effect the Nobel Prize has been awarded to him. Coenyzme Q10 is a natural foodstuffs component which can be found in every cell and which plays an essential role when it comes to energy production in body cells. What you should note when buying coenzyme Q10!
Besides the pure coenzyme Q10 which is produced naturally with bio-fermentation, the partly substantially cheaper synthetic Q10 is available as well, which - according to studies - often contains impurities. Furthermore, the highest degree of purity of Q10 is only reached after a threefold chromatography. The difference: the degree of purity of the raw substance Q10 determines your tolerability and bioavailability.
Three pipes where the Q10 runs through during the purification process can explain the chromatographic purification. As a pure substance, the color of the final product in the third pipe stands clearly out against the first pipe. It must have a "deep" yellow color. For clarification, please have a look at a Mag_X10 capsule. Owing to the high cost, this purification method is only used in case of critical drugs such as insulin. High-quality Q10 products are produced according to this approach. A high degree of purity and consequently quality and safety, however, have their price. Cheap products, which have not been produced according to this procedure, are consequently disqualifying on their own. We know that besides synthetic products there are also offered Q10 compounds which have gone through such an "interrupted purification process", i.e. only one pipe. The consequence is that foreign bodies and impurities remain kept.
